# About — Tampa Bay's Maids

## Who we are

Tampa Bay's Maids LLC is a Florida-registered residential and commercial cleaning company founded in 2026, headquartered in Tampa, and operated as a 50/50 partnership. The company serves the Tampa Bay metropolitan area with a bilingual (English + Spanish) team of W-2 employees.

One of the co-owners also owns JR One Aluminum LLC, a 2006-founded aluminum and gutter specialty-trade contractor operating across Hillsborough County. The two businesses are legally separate but share an operational relationship — Tampa Bay's Maids is JR One's preferred post-construction cleaning vendor.

## The W-2 rule

Most residential cleaning companies use 1099 independent contractors. We do not. Every person who enters a customer's home as part of Tampa Bay's Maids is a **W-2 employee** with:

- Federal, state, and FICA payroll taxes withheld and remitted by the company
- Workers' compensation insurance
- Paid training hours
- Background-check and E-Verify clearance

Why it matters to customers:

- **If a cleaner is injured in your home, you are not personally exposed.** W-2 employees are covered by workers' comp; 1099 contractors often are not, leaving the homeowner's liability policy as the first stop.
- **Lower turnover.** W-2 staff stay longer. That means you see the same team on recurring service, and your home is cleaned by someone who knows it.
- **Trained, not just sent.** W-2 workers receive paid training on protocols, products, and customer interaction. 1099 gig workers do not.

The cost of W-2 employment is real — roughly 15–20% higher labor cost than a 1099 equivalent — and that cost is built into our pricing. We don't advertise "cheap." We advertise professional.

## Bilingual by design

Tampa Bay is approximately 30% Hispanic — about 500,000 residents. Puerto Rican (30% of Tampa's Hispanic community), Mexican (26%), Cuban (10%), and other Latin American backgrounds are all well-represented. The Spanish that serves all of them is **neutral Latin Spanish**, not Caribbean or regional slang.

Every team rotation includes at least one cleaner fluent in both English and Spanish. Customers can request Spanish-primary or English-primary communication when booking; we match on the crew level.

All customer-facing materials — the website, FAQ, booking confirmations, and estimates — are available in both languages.

## Insurance posture

- **General liability:** up to $1,000,000 coverage per incident
- **Bonding:** full bonding for theft-related loss coverage
- **Workers' compensation:** all staff covered

Certificate of Insurance (COI) available on request. Commercial clients, HOAs, and property-management firms that require vendor COIs on file can have one emailed within 24 hours of request.

## Training

Every new hire completes:
- A paid training week covering protocols, product usage, surface-safety, and customer interaction
- A ride-along period paired with a senior cleaner for on-the-job calibration
- Bilingual-communication training for the customer-facing lexicon

Ongoing: quarterly review sessions on new products, safety updates, and customer feedback integration.

## Customer commitment

- **Response time:** phone calls answered during business hours; emails and form submissions acknowledged within 4 business hours
- **Estimates:** always free, always no-obligation
- **Satisfaction:** if something is missed, we return within 48 hours to address it at no charge
- **Communication:** you tell us how you want to be reached (text, email, phone), and in which language

## How we think about this business

Cleaning is not a commodity. It is a trust transaction — you let us into your home while you're not there. That only works if the person on your kitchen counter is trained, paid well, insured, and legally on our payroll. Everything else — the pricing tiers, the bilingual rotation, the insurance posture, the sister-company referral pipeline — is in service of that one fact.
